Kong Urban Club is one of the best nightclubs you can visit when in Rosebank thanks to its youthful vibe, amazing music, and fantastic food and drinks. It has a spacious dance floor with dimmed-out lights perfect for grooving as the DJ plays dance music.

Aside from its rocking dance floor, the club also has a bar where you can order premium drinks like Ciroc vodka and bar food like chicken wings and calamari. 

If you want a special evening, you can also try their VIP rooms, which have bottled service and a great view of the dance floor.

If you’re after a great atmosphere and a great crowd, then Sumo Nightclub is one nightclub you need to check out. It has a very trendy feel with dimmed-out lights, multi-coloured neon signages, and an indoor sakura tree behind its impressive bar.

Aside from the wide open dance floor of this club, there’s also a raised platform where featured artists and special guests can entertain the club’s patrons. 

They also have different cocktails and drinks, and we recommend their spiked teas, which include unique flavours like their watermelon, vanilla, and rose cha (ZAR 108) and Imperial Superior Grapefruit Cha (ZAR 98).

Harem Nightclub is one of the most popular nightclubs not just in Rosebank but in the entire Johannesburg area, and it’s not hard to see why. 

The interiors of this nightclub will make you feel energised thanks to the neon-lighted platforms and dimmed-out dance floor.

What we like about this nightclub is the number of DJs and artists they feature on a single night, which can reach up to 9 different ones per session. While you can enjoy different drinks from their bar, we recommend giving their Moet champagne a try!

4. Katzy’s Rosebank

What we like most about Katzy’s Rosebank, however, is that they don’t just feature DJs playing electronic dance music but also live bands (like Dr. Victor and the Rasta Rebels). Take all this in while sipping on their wines, champagnes, and cocktails!

Capital Music Café is a unique nightclub in the heart of Rosebank, Sandton. It has an industrial and modern warehouse appeal thanks to its low ceiling, decorative pipes displayed up top, and dark floor panels covering its cosy interiors.

The dance floor of this cafe isn’t the biggest we’ve ever seen, but it’s designed for audiences to grind and groove to the music of the club’s live performers. 

Just make sure that you wear something appropriate, as the club requires guests to be at least in smart casual.

6. Mix Cocktail Bar

Mix Cocktail Bar has a traditional pub feel with its use of traditional leather sofa chairs and wooden tables. We also like the classic vibe of the place heightened by its solid light-coloured walls filled with various paintings (from portraits to abstract ones).

Aside from featuring local artists and DJs to perform live music for you and other guests, you can also enjoy the bar food and drinks on offer. We recommend pairing their 3 barria short rib tacos (ZAR 110) with their Paloma cocktail (ZAR 100).

Babylon Club has that energetic vibe brought about by its adrenaline-fueled dance areas. As with most nightclubs, it has dimmed-out lights and neon blinkers scattered throughout the ceiling, but what stands out is the bar’s cage and stripper pole!

Here, you and the other guests can gyrate and party the night away with the club’s guest performers! While enjoying the party at the club, don’t forget to order their best-selling drinks like their Don Julio shot and Corona beer combo for just ZAR 10.

Located in the prestigious Crowne Plaza Hotel, the Circle Bar is a great nightclub to check out if you want to live like a millionaire even if it’s just for the night. 

This club has some of the most elegant seating areas in the area with plush seats, subdued lighting, and enclosed lounges for a bit of privacy.

We also liked the setup of their bar with sleek shelves and countertops that will let you and your group drink in comfort and style. Their unique cocktails (e.g. Rosebank Rouge Raspberry Spritzer) and bar food (e.g. truffle salt potato fries) are a must-try!

Pro Tip:
If you want something filling, you can also order from their Hungry and Hearty menu composed mostly of steaks. They have a 600-gram t-bone steak for ZAR 350 and 300-gram sirloin for ZAR 200.

9. Sin & Tax Bar

Sin & Tax Bar is a hip and casual nightclub that’s ideal for the artsy types! Here, you can relax and sip on their house specialty drinks while sitting on their large leather sofas and admiring the different paintings and artwork scattered across the bar.

Aside from the amazing vibe of this bar, you can also try some of the most unique concoctions on this side of South Africa! 

You can check out their Haystack chardonnay and their unique cocktail mix called peach, which contains Japanese whiskey, peach, Riesling wine, miso, and tonka bean!

If you’re a big fan of champagnes, then Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar is the spot to be! Located on Bath Avenue, Rosebank, this club has a very light and playful feel to it thanks mainly to its use of solid bright colours with gold highlights.

Their champagnes are also world-class and top-notch (if a bit pricey). A bottle of Veuve Clicquot – La Grande Dame Brut Champagne can cost you around ZAR 7,500, so just make sure you’re ready to splurge if and when you decide to visit!
