That said, we think it’s worth mentioning that Green’s mostly services larger vehicle radiator models. 

You might want to look somewhere else to service your motorcycle or sedan car radiators.

In terms of workmanship, clients highlight how hands-on the owners and staff – particularly Kyle –  are with their clients’ needs.

From what we’re told, the staff are well-versed with radiator problems and know what type of repair work they’ll do to solve the problem.

It’s also a plus that they provide replacement parts that are close to the original make of certain radiator models. 

We think this service is suitable for radiators with expired warranties and those with obsolete or hard-to-find parts.

Customers also noted that the bespoke parts were worth their prices as they were durable and can pass off as the original make.

Another strong point of Green’s Radiator Service is its prompt turnaround time. Customers said they brought in their radiators for repairs and got their models fixed within 2 to 3 days.

While the company’s competence and punctuality are impressive, we hope it extends the same effort in its responsiveness.

Clients noted that it can take a few days to receive a response from the company about its repair services; some even complained that they didn’t receive any.

Given that Green’s currently doesn’t offer emergency maintenance services, we think it should work on its availability to address clients’ concerns.

On a brighter note, we’re pleased that Green’s staff apologised for their lack of follow-through.

We looked into its work portfolio and found that it is trusted when it comes to heavy vehicles such as pickups, tow trucks, and fleet trucks.

While the shop mainly works on large vehicle radiators, we’re willing to look past this as customers noted that they like having a place that specialises in truck radiators.

Besides its speciality, a strong point of Rapid Radiators is that it does custom radiator parts. 

We think this service is excellent for getting new components for models with hard-to-find parts.

The company also does custom-made radiators for special vehicles. We love that there is a shop ready to make tailor-fitted radiators and parts that suit various kinds of projects.

Another strong point of this radiator builder and repairer is that it tests its repairs and replacements.

We appreciate that it takes the extra mile in ensuring that clients get well-made fixes and well-installed components that last a long time.

Clients also highlight how the company’s services are worth their money, which we’re also pleased with since repair services can cost thousands.

We’re also happy to report that the company refurbishes old yet functional radiators. Not only is this cost-effective, but we find this a sustainable way of maintaining good-quality radiators until they completely break down.

On the downside, we’re a bit bummed that Rapid Radiators currently doesn’t offer emergency services.

Since its primary clients are business owners with fleet and pickup trucks, we think that opening up emergency services would help those in need of immediate repairs for faulty radiators.

Silverton Radiators has been a noteworthy provider of repair and custom-made services for radiators of all makes since 1949.

What we love about this company is its broad range of services. We recommend bringing in your radiators for professional flushing, troubleshooting, re-coring, refurbishing, and testing replacement components.

It’s also a plus that the company offers customisation services, which we think will be suitable for bespoke radiators at home and in heavy vehicles.

These are also available at all of Silverton’s service centres spanning Johannesburg. So, we’re giving plus points to the company for having many branches to accommodate clients from various parts of the city.

In terms of workmanship, clients highlight the professionalism and thoughtfulness of  Silverton’s staff.

We’ve heard that the technicians are well-versed in the most common radiator problems and can pinpoint the best solutions to fix them.

A strong point is also their punctuality in terms of turnaround time. We appreciate them for being considerate about their clients’ need for getting back on the road or warming their homes again.

We also have to give it to Silverton for having cooling system specialists that give advice on how to keep radiators functional and how to troubleshoot simple problems safely.

Just a word of caution: some clients mentioned the inconsistent workmanship of this company’s technicians.

We’re also not too pleased to hear about some of the clients receiving unfriendly welcomes from some of the staff.

We hope Silverton fine-tunes its consistency and customer service, as we think quality workmanship and accommodating staff contribute to overall value for money.

Cape Heat Exchange (CHE) is a notable supplier and repair facility hailing from Cape Town. 

We’re quite pleased that its superb services and technicians are now available in Johannesburg!

One of the company’s strong points is its specialisation in automotive and industrial radiators. 

From what we’ve heard, the company is trusted by many business owners and vehicle owners in the city.

In terms of its services, CHE currently does testing, inspections, replacements, cleaning, and repairs for radiators of different makes.

We also think it’s favourable that the company is partners with several suppliers of radiator components from Asia, Europe, and other parts of Africa.

The company’s inventory also carries aluminium, copper, and steel components suitable for customers’ different needs.

That said, we’re told that CHE’s inventory is slightly limited. Some noted that while the company does customer-specific parts, they didn’t carry certain components they needed for their radiators.

But despite the slightly limited inventory, we have to give it to CHE for its short turnaround time. 

Clients praise getting their radiators back in within 3 days to a week – with superior repairs and replacements that look like the original parts.

On the downside, we hope the same speed will be applied to CHE’s responsiveness. We’re quite bummed to hear that the company’s staff doesn’t always return client calls even if they promised to.

Clients also complained that they had to call and email CHE multiple times just to get replies regarding their project quotes.

Mr. Cool Radiators is another reliable repair facility for car radiators. What sets them apart is that it services different car models.

To date, the company currently does repairs and other automotive works for more than 20 car brands and their old and new models.

We’re also impressed with the company’s diverse inventory of replacement parts for radiators, suspensions, and cooling systems available.

Clients mentioned they appreciate the staff presenting them with a variety of parts that suit their radiator type.

Another aspect we liked about Mr. Cool Radiators is that it does custom welding services for different aluminium and copper parts.

It’s also a plus that the technicians welcome clients’ requests for modifications they want for their radiators.

Besides the bespoke aspect, we appreciate the company for using materials that best dissipate heat and air throughout the car’s heating and cooling system.

We also have to give it to the company for carrying other spare parts that work well with its refurbished radiators and car parts.

On the downside, we’ve heard complaints about the company’s lack of follow-through regarding refunds or faulty repairs.

We’re also iffy about the inconsistent workmanship regarding radiator fixes and maintenance. 

We hope Mr. Cool would look into this as we find it risky if clients’ vehicles suddenly break down while they’re on the road.
