Pros

  • Offers several types of insulation materials
  • Over 30 years of experience

Cons

  • Some instances of late installations

With more than 30 years of experience in the business, Home Insulations has proved to be one of the most reliable attic insulation companies servicing around Johannesburg.

They offer home insulation services, roof ventilation and vacuuming, and also sell several types of insulation products. Actually, Home Insulations provides stocks for all major brands of insulation materials in South Africa, which we think is impressive.

The first thing we found noteworthy about Home Insulations is they have seven great choices of insulation materials to choose from.

Each insulation product differs in material and composition, and clients noted that staff were helpful in explaining each and assisting them in choosing the best one for their homes.

Their rates also differ depending on which insulation product you want to be installed in your attic. For the high-class insulation material such as Knauf Earthwool with Ecose Technology, which is what Home Insulations often recommends, the thinnest roll (50mm) is R 646.

We also appreciate that Home Insulations has several insulation product options for those looking for more affordable attic insulation materials without having to sacrifice quality.

Their past clients are highly satisfied with their insulation products and installation services. They’re commended for implementing a seamless process – from booking and cleaning to installation.

We hear Home Installation’s customer service is practically flawless, too. They’re generally praised for prompt and superb assistance to customers’ questions and concerns.

The only things that bring it down are some minor complaints about customers dealing with out-of-schedule and late installations.

Pros

  • Broad range of insulation products offered
  • 25 years of experience
  • Thermal and acoustic installation materials available

Cons

  • Does not have contractors to install insulators

Insulpro is one of the most sought after companies for insulation products supplier in the area. Having 25 years of experience in the business, Insulpro has earned people’s trust and has provided home insulation solutions to hundreds of homes and facilities.

We think that Insulpro has is an impressive collection of insulation products. If you’re looking for insulation materials for allied, fibreglass, HVAC, PIC, or variations of mineral wool, you’re looking in the right place.

Moreover, customers are really pleased with their reasonable pricing of materials. What’s more, as they’re a primary supplier, Insulpro always has stocks on hand.

Generally, they offer floor, pipe, wall, roof and attic insulation solutions. What their customers love is that their products include both thermal and acoustic materials.

Customers describe Insu’pro as a one-stop-shop for all their insulation needs. Insulpro’s staff are also commended for being knowledgeable of their products and helpful in assisting customer needs.

Too bad they don’t have contractors to install the insulation products they sell. Unfortunately, some customers find their advertising misleading after being told they only sell materials, and you’d have to hire someone else to install it for you.

Pros

  • Extensive range of services

Cons

  • Limited choice of insulation materials

Visible Improvements is a reputable roofing company established more than 40 years ago. They offer a broad range of roofing works that customers describe as quality workmanship.

Also, Visible Improvements’ performance is aligned with and approved by the South African Bureau of Standards, assuring customers that they use sturdy materials that last and follow an organised procedure for their work.

We like that Visible Improvements does all the work needed involving roofs: damp-proofing, waterproofing, painting, installation and repairs of slate roofs, ceiling installations, and roof repairs including roof and attic insulations.

Their roofing insulation services are recommended by past clients because their insulation instalments not only keep their homes warm during cold weather and comfortable during summer but also form a waterproof and dustproof barrier for their roofs.

Their rates vary depending on what services you’d like to avail. Regardless, it’s quite easy to get a quote from their website.

Visible Improvements’ customers are satisfied with their service quotes, describing them as competitive and worth every cent. Furthermore, their contractors are complimented for their efficiency and top-quality workmanship.

Nevertheless, we do think the materials they offer for roof and attic insulations are too limited. Although they do have the basic foil insulation and fibreglass materials, we think you’ll find better choices in other companies.

We hope they can provide more options with regards to attic insulation materials to cater to more customers and keep up with other insulation companies in Joburg.

Pros

  • Affordable, durable, and eco-friendly insulation material

Cons

  • Limited services offered
  • Limited insulation products available

Fibre-Spec is a small but competitive ceiling insulation company operating in Johannesburg and nearby areas. They’re family-run and specialise in loose-fill fibre insulation.

Although smaller and relatively newer in the business, Fibre-Spec has garnered positive remarks from its past clients over the years. They’re acclaimed for impressive workmanship, prompt service, and friendly contractors.

What we found noteworthy about Fibre-Spec is they use a unique and high-quality product for their insulation services called Thermofloc Loosefill Insulation, which is locally sourced.

We also love Fibre-Spec’s advocacy for sustainability, which is why they only use Thermofloc for their insulation projects.

Fibre-Spec’s past clients are very pleased with their product, too. However, do note that if you’re looking for a specific material for your attic insulation need, Fibre-Spec might not be the best option for you.

Fibre-Spec also only offers two services: insulation and cleaning. They’re looking to expand and include repairs too though, which we think is great as it would make them more versatile and attract more customers.

Regardless, they’re recommended by their past customers for their competitive pricing, excellent and supervised service, and speedy installations.

Pros

  • Known for great workmanship and customer service
  • Quick response time

Cons

  • Limited services offered
  • Limited insulation products available

Roof and Geyser Insulation is another specialised insulation company that operates in Gauteng and nearby areas. Their services are limited to roof, ceiling, and geyser insulation solutions.

We appreciate that Roof and Geyser Insulation also thrives to keep the business eco-friendly. The material they use for roof insulations is made from recycled bottles.

Moreover, the final product is also environmentally-friendly and 100% recyclable, which we think is awesome!

However, again, if you’re looking for a specific material you’d like for your attic insulations, you might need to look at other companies as they only work with one insulation material.

Also, Roof and Geyser Insulation doesn’t provide cleaning and repairs so you might need to hire someone else for that too. That could mean additional costs for homeowners, but thankfully, Roof and Geyser Insulation apparently provides reasonable rates to begin with.

They’re also quite known in the insulation business, having over 25 years of experience. Roof and Geyser Insulation’s work is accredited by the South African Bureau of Standards, and they’re also a member of the Thermal Insulation Products & Systems Association SA.

Another thing customers like about their process is their only after-service pay. We think this is a great strategy as it shows the company’s confidence in doing a great job, and lets the customers assess the installations first before paying.
