Baobab Tree Guest House is a no-frills hotel that will make your stay in Bloemfontein relaxing and memorable. What stands out most for us is the entrance to this hotel, which has a gorgeous canopy of thick leaves thanks to the overhanging tree branches.

It doesn’t have huge gardens or grounds, but it more than makes up for it with the view surrounding the property. It’s just a wide open plateau with an unobstructed view of the horizon and the South African skyline.

We also found the classic look of the rooms to be quite appealing, especially with its use of retro televisions (e.g. CRT TVs) and old-school TV stands.

Pro Tip:
You can enjoy a casino game or two if you visit the nearby Windmill Casino. What’s more, this casino has gaming facilities for the kids and a restaurant buffet that you can check out if you’re feeling hungry.

Allegro Guesthouse has a special charm that will appeal to travellers who want convenience but at the same time something with a local or indigenous feel.

While the rooms and interiors of the hotel look modern thanks to its use of solid grey colours and sleek furniture, the property added indigenous touches such as tables made from tree bark and decorative antelope heads hanging on its walls.

We also like that their rooms are quite spacious, offering huge beds and a separate entertainment area with plush sofas for your family to relax in. After getting that much-needed rest, you can then beat the heat by jumping into the hotel’s outdoor pool!

Pro Tip:
If you want to enjoy a different dining experience aside from the already-filling breakfast (which includes bacon, eggs, and bread) offered by this hotel, you can also check out the nearby Margaritas Seafood and Steak!

Serenity Living is a fantastic hotel for you to experience true serenity when in Bloemfontein. The hotel is set up like a modern bungalow with rooms located on the ground floor with direct access to the outdoor pool and well-maintained grounds.

The rooms are also phenomenal and have a modern feel to them mainly due to the use of solid light colours (e.g., white and light grey) on the walls and curtains. What we like most is that their rooms have their own kitchenette where you can cook your own food!

Pro Tip:
If you want to enjoy unique craft beers on tap and feast on great culinary options, we recommend the nearby Famous Brew & Still. Aside from their drinks, you can also try out their meat and cheese boards!

City Living Boutique Hotel has an urban vibe to it and is located in one of the city’s most strategic areas (General Dan Pienaar Drive) where you can visit nearby malls and restaurants.

The hotel is also quite inviting with its modern look and sleek straight lines all throughout its facade, interiors, and rooms with fluffy beds and plush lounge chairs for maximum relaxation.

What we think is the main draw for this hotel, however, is its proximity to the popular Temple Golf Club. If you’re attending a business seminar or convention at this hotel, you can bring a colleague or two along for a round of golf.

Pro Tip:
Aside from the nearby golf course, you can also score great finds at the nearby John Dory’s Mimosa Mall. You can then check out the many dining options in the area such as Famous Brew and Still.

The name “College Lodge” is a bit of a misnomer for this hotel. It doesn’t look like a college dorm but rather more of a country home surrounded by a stunning garden with well-maintained grounds, including a fountain and paths.

Their outdoor pool is also quite inviting with it being surrounded by the hotel’s lush garden and thick trees offering comfortable shade in the area. We also like that their rooms have large glass windows that offer an unobstructed view of the hotel grounds!
