The Best Hair Salons in Cape Town for Head-Turning Dos!
I’m properly mad about my hair. It’s my crown, so best believe I’ll fork out some top cash for a salon service that works and lasts.
There’s also a whole backstory behind that…something that involves a colouring mishap and the ungodly breakage that followed.
Since then, I don’t play games when it comes to my locks. I stick to Cape Town’s finest—those joints that’ll leave you feeling like a shampoo model! If you’re after the same level of lush, we put together our local favourites.

Given how I personally value experience, Spoilt’s inclusion was predictable. I’ve been a client for years, and they have been operating since 2005.
The setting definitely helps. A simple trim often gets me VIP treatment, with no side-eyes or snarky comments during bad hair days.
Pricing does match the premium service, though. For example, a ladies’ cut sits at ZAR 560, a bit beyond the city’s usual rate.
On the upside, their service range is varied. Basics like colouring and cuts are ticked, with specialised offerings also offered, primarily Japanese and Brazilian treatments.
The team gets some points, too. Most days, eight stylists are present, each bringing their own speciality to the table.
The cherry on top is the heavenly massage included in the services.
Just a pity they’re closed on Sundays, especially for someone like me whose Monday–Saturday schedule requires some squeezing.

Spoilt Hair in Kloof Street is the best. Caitlyn at Reception first of all makes things happen and makes sure you are booked in. Mina,Thembi and all the ladies are all friendly and always makes you feel welcome. They all very professional & assure that walk out of the salon satisfied… It’s a must when in Cape Town 🥰

Luxurious Salon Experience
The Spoilt Hair Salon is a true treasure! The staff was friendly and made me feel like a VIP as soon as I came in. My hair has never looked more shiny and new thanks to my stylist Nini’s flawless colour and cut!
The salon uses only the best products and has a stylish yet relaxing atmosphere. In addition, they offer personalised aftercare advice, showing their care for keeping you looking your best.
Spoilt is the place to go if you want a luxurious salon experience! Strongly advise!

Just Peachy Hair passed our experience test. They have been styling since 2019, after all.
Most of my friends go to them for blondes, balayages, and extensions, which makes sense since it’s their bread and butter. Clients we talked to said the same, many praising the results’ consistency.
Pricing is also reasonable. A workmate availed of their root touch-up for ZAR 870, and my gents’ cut came to ZAR 365. Both fees are decent if we’re talking Cape Town.
The product shelf impressed us as well. All of their brands are premium, namely K18 Hair, Olaplex, Kevin Murphy, and Eleven Australia.
Extra nods for additional perks like massages and seasonal product giveaways (check their IG). Although if you ask me, the endless coffee refills are better.
Now, the drawback is that they shut doors on Sundays. Discounts are also rare compared to our other choices.

I have done some extensive research on the best salons in Cape Town. After trying a few, I knew that just peachy really makes up to their 5 star ratings. Megan made anything possible to squeeze me in last minute for an appointment. And Ida just did an absolute phenomenal job. I couldn’t be happier!

It’s rare to find inexperienced stylists at Excentric. Their crew goes through constant training, including a tough one-year and in-house course run by a Wella Education member.
So I’m not surprised that services here are more time-consuming and methodical. For example, consultations include detailed analysis of skin tone, bone structure, and, of course, facial shape.
In terms of services, hair colouring gets most of the clients’ praise, especially the balayage offering, said to blend and shine exceptionally.
What’s more, they provide restorative treatments. Knowing they use products like Olaplex and Mycro Keratin is a plus for peace of mind and reliability.
Excentric, however, isn’t the greatest fit if you’re in a rush. The salon’s consultations take time, and the senior stylists are in high demand.
You must also deal with the Sunday unavailability if you’re like me.
Good thing prices are reasonable, and frequent deals make them sweeter.

Made Sure I Was Comfortable
I had an amazing experience at Excentric on Kloof! My stylist, Precious, was absolutely fantastic—she explained every step of the process and each product in detail, which made me feel completely at ease. I did the Anti-Hairfall Experience, and she made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Her expertise and warm personality created such a great vibe in the salon. As the name gives away, Blonde Hair Studio specialises in all things blonde.
That said, they still handle basics for any colour, like cuts, extensions, and stylings—even for the little ones.
From our chats, highlighting services seems to be their best offering. Most are stunned by the natural-looking finish and how much dimension their hair got post-service.
The salon itself is also typically sunlit and clean, which does wonders if you’re looking to unwind. Though personally, I’m a bigger fan of the coffee and wine they pour.
Letdowns? Well, they’re closed on Mondays and Sundays, making them the least available salon on this list.
They’re also relatively new, with just over three years in the business.
On a positive note, they don’t overcharge. I got a gents’ cut for just ZAR 320, which is lower than Cape Town’s standard.
The promotions and 2-for-1 deals also soften the blow.
The Service is Top-Notch
It’s been a week since my visit to Blonde Hair Studio, and I’m still in awe of the amazing experience I had! Ruan is hands down the best hairstylist I’ve ever had — he truly works magic with hair. He exceeded all my expectations, and I can honestly say it’s the best haircut and styling I’ve ever had! The service is top-notch, and the atmosphere makes you feel like part of the family from the moment you walk in. I can’t recommend this salon enough! Ruan, keep on shining and lighting up the world with your incredible expertise. I’m already looking forward to my next appointment.

Absolutely thrilled with my experience at Blonde Hair Studio in Riverlands mall! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. My workmates who rock braids tend to visit Blessing. No surprises there; it’s their core focus, and, honestly, the results show it.
Clients consistently mention how gentle the staff are. As for the braids, there are few to no gripes concerning tightness, breakage, swelling, or visible bulbs.
There’s also the efficiency factor. Normally, sessions are completed in less than four hours.
Additionally, it’s fair game here when it comes to prices. Fees hover between ZAR 250 and ZAR 550.
The bit we’re not happy about, though, is that fees are laid out at the salon instead of advance quotes.
Plus, it’s not the right joint for specialised options like colouring or restorative treatments. As said, braiding is their main gig, followed by cutting and hair setting.
Other than that, they’re a neat choice. The staff is clean, the folks are polite, and the music will keep you in a sunny mood.

Blessing and her team at Blessing Beauty Salon are a blessing indeed. Had such a wonderful experience here getting knotless braids and acrylics! To all the ladies who worked on my hair – Ana and Queen to just name a few, thank you again and you did such an amazing job in just a few hours. This is definitely place to go in Cape Town!

Super Positive Experience
This was my first time ever getting extensions and it was a super positive experience! There was a bit of an issue with the length of the hair, but that got cleared up very quickly. Pricing was very reasonable and my hair looks just like the reference photo! The ladies were all very sweet and one even recommended some dinner spots when I mentioned I was needing to find a spot to eat (it was a perfect suggestion and my family was really happy with it!).
