We also like how the clinics are furnished with the latest medical equipment and apparatus. Yes, even the mobile units!

Their services are more often availed by employers and businesses to ensure their worker’s well-being. Workforce Healthcare’s primary products are occupational and primary healthcare, mobile screenings, and employee wellness programmes. 

They also offer several options on how to conduct medical screenings. Patients can either visit a clinic and have the tests on-site, or Workforce Healthcare will bring the clinic to your office via mobile clinics or through shipping.

While you can submit an enquiry on their services through their website, it’s too bad that Workforce Healthcare does not allow online appointment-setting. To book their services, it’s most recommended to appear physically in one of their offices.

Travel Doctor Corporate is a multifaceted health provider in Johannesburg, largely popular among travellers and immigrants. 

One thing we love about Travel Doctor Corporate is they’re not limited to just one kind of screening and services. They offer needs-based medical services that address corporate travel and occupational health concerns.

They provide health screening services for pre-deployment, corporate travel, immigration, travel, South African Maritime Safety Authority Medical Examination, and Oil & Gas UK Medical. 

Each is composed of different tests, depending on the purpose of the health screening. The screening’s cost also depends on what type you’ll avail.

Nonetheless, Travel Doctor Corporate is commended for its affordable rates and medical screening packages. 

For example, the complete Canadian Immigration Medical Examination, which is composed of a physical examination, urinalysis, chest x-rays, and blood tests, costs R 3,200 for adults. 

Travel Doctor Corporate is also a vaccination site for several non-vaccine and vaccine-preventable diseases such as malaria, listeriosis, typhoid, hepatitis A and B, rabies, tuberculosis, and many more.

We think easy access to vaccines is also one of Travel Doctor Corporate’s great value-added perks.

However, it’s worth mentioning how some past patients were disappointed with the treatment they received from Travel Doctor Corporate’s staff. Apparently, they were treated harshly, and the receptionist was dismissive and rude, which is a red flag for us.

Lastly, there are also a number of complaints regarding the long waiting line in the clinic. We talked with previous patients and they shared how they had to wait for more than an hour to be accommodated.

HealthCubes Medical and Dental Centre is one of the most sought after medical groups in Johannesburg. For us, their biggest competitive advantage is their commitment to making healthcare accessible to all.

Patients appreciate how the clinic is characterised by variety, having a long list of medical services, including antenatal care, dental care, medical tests, health screenings, and wellness programmes, among others. 

As for health screening, their comprehensive physical wellness assessment covers blood pressure tests, diabetes, cholesterol levels, cancer and HIV.

HealthCubes Medical and Dental Centre primarily preferred for their affordable rates. Their initial consultation only costs R 380, and this even also covers basic tests and medication.

On top of that, the clinic even offers some of their services for free, such as circumcision, blood pressure check, blood glucose test, and HIV testing and counselling, which is awesome. 

We’re impressed to hear that since their establishment, they’ve served more than five thousand patients already.

HealthCubes Medical and Dental Centre has 22 medical cube sites staffed by registered doctors and nurses, and supported by trained personnel. 

We find it concerning, though, that there are a few reports from previous patients stating they were misdiagnosed. This is a sore point for us and is something we think shouldn’t be taken lightly, as it can put lives at risk.

Aside from that, there are also grumbles regarding HealthCubes Medical and Dental Centre’s poor customer communication. Past patients told us it’s difficult to reach out to the clinic’s representatives to ask questions or raise concerns.

Parkmore Medical Centre is a small, private clinic in Sandton led by two renowned Family Medicine specialists. One thing we like about this health centre is they’re very well staffed with experienced doctors, nurses, dietitians, and personnel.

Many patients favour Parkmore Medical Centre because of its high-quality servicing and long operational hours. Their clinics are open even on Saturdays, allowing them to accommodate those who want to be screened but have commitments on workdays.

It’s also a plus for us that the centre is spacious and well-maintained. 

There are six clinics in the facility: a diabetic clinic, nutrition clinic, travel clinic, women’s health clinic, well mum and baby clinic, and a dermatology clinic.Of these, four clinics offer health screenings.

One remarkable feature of Parkmore Medical Centre is its fully-furnished Lancet Laboratory onsite. All the screening tests specimen are brought to this laboratory for processing.

This way, the centre is able to release results faster. Moreover, they have online access to all results, which makes the whole process more efficient.

We also like that they have their own well-stocked pharmacy, saving patients the inconvenience of running to a nearby pharmacy to get their medication.

Rates-wise, we appreciate how Parkmore Medical Centre is transparent with its professional fees upon enquiry. Take note, though, that they’re not contracted with medical aids, which is a bit of a bummer.

Lastly, we would’ve liked it better if they had an online appointment setting option. That way, patients won’t need to drive up to the centre just to book a slot for next time.

Jewel City Medical Centre is an all-around clinic popular amongst the Maboneng precinct. We included this medical centre for its devotion to providing affordable integrated primary health care.

While we think it’s a better idea to include how much their service rates are on all of their platforms to easily inform prospective clients, previous patients vouch for the centre’s cheap fees.

It’s also an asset for us that Jewel City Medical Centre is contracted with all medical aids, and accepts payment from all major credit and debit cards. 

The centre is actually a no-cash facility and all processes are digitalised, making them more efficient and easy to track. In addition, all records and test results are also accessed via cloud-based systems for seamless management.

We also love how easy it is to book an appointment with the clinic. Patients can easily reach out to their representatives via their website, Whatsapp, or Facebook.

Another thing we love is Jewel City Medical Centre’s active patient support. Their receptionists are prompt to respond and are described by previous patients as friendly, supportive, and professional.
