Pappas on the Square will make you go “Ahoy there, mateys!” with its nautical theme. We like that this Greek restaurant’s interior and outdoor dining areas have a modern and sleek vibe that exudes freshness usually associated with Mediterranean cuisine.

Their food won’t disappoint, especially if you order their best-sellers such as the seafood platter and gyros with chips. 

The view here is also phenomenal, and you can take in the beauty of the European-looking Nelson Mandela Square while enjoying your sumptuous meal!

Signature Restaurant is one of the best Sandton restaurants to have a romantic dinner with your loved one. It has elegant interiors thanks to its classy tables and chairs plus huge glass windows with a great view of the city skyline—a perfect sundowner for sure!

They also serve high-quality food items. Considering the plating, flavour, and texture, you know they want their customers to have the best experience. 

While we liked their hake and peri peri chicken, we highly recommend their chilled oysters with dipping sauce!

Pro Tip:
Reserve your table in advance by visiting their website especially if you’re planning a romantic date in the evening. The place can get crowded, and it’s best that you secure a slot for you and your partner.

3. Cilantros Sandton

Cilantros Sandton is one restaurant you need to check out if you want great food, good views, and comfy interiors. The dining area inside the restaurant has an elegant Nordic feel thanks to its minimalist dining tables and chairs surrounded by large glass windows.

Instead of a view of the city skyline, you get a magnificent street-level view of the urban jungle (e.g., commercial buildings and stores) surrounding the area. You can take all of this in as you feast on their house specialties like sirloin steak and seafood pasta!

Pro Tip:
You can ask the wait staff for any set menus available depending on the season. Their Facebook also posts about these special menu sets based on the occasion (e.g. Christmas menu sets). 

4. Rodizio Grill and Tapas

Rodizio Grill and Tapas will transport you all the way to Brazil with its tropical interiors, colourful decor, and artsy wall paintings! The view here is also amazing, as you get to enjoy the urban and European-styled surroundings of the restaurant.

They also offer authentic Brazilian dishes, which include their Gaucho steak (rump steak), lamb chops, and chicken panado (schnitzel). 

You can also sample their seafood items by ordering their carnival platter that includes lobster, mussels, prawns, and calamari (ZAR 329).

Pro Tip:
If you’re vegetarian, then you can order their vegetarian platter. This includes fried veggies, baked mushrooms, creamed spinach, mashed butternut, and feta cheese all for just ZAR 152.

5. The Rock Design Quarter

The Rock Design Quarter serves mostly Western and African fare while offering you and other patrons comfy interiors and great urban views of the area. This restaurant has a minimalist Nordic feel with its use of wooden walls and furniture.

On top of these, the views outside are simply impressive, showing the area’s urban lifestyle (e.g., storefronts and buildings) combined with some greenery making it look like an oasis in the middle of the city. 

While you can order pizza, fries, and pasta, we highly recommend their best-selling ribs served with a side of veggies.

Pro Tip:
Check out their Facebook before your visit. They sometimes have special offers like their ZAR 99 luncheon that’s perfect (and quite affordable) for a business lunch.

If you’re craving authentic Indian food with a great view of Sandton’s urban jungle, then Royal India is the place to be. The interior dining area of the hotel looks like a traditional pub with Indian touches (e.g. printed tablecloth) and comfy furniture.

The view from the inside is also awesome with large glass windows offering an amazing glimpse of the busy business hub right outside the establishment. Enjoy all of these as you feast on chicken tandoori and korma (meat or veggie stew).

Pro Tip:
The restaurant also offers a lunch buffet from Friday to Saturday from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Fill up on your favourite Indian dishes and sides all for just ZAR 190—a great value indeed! 

7. Truffles on the Park

Located inside the Mushroom Farm Park, Truffles on the Park naturally has impressive views of this phenomenal park. Surrounded by a combination of green fields, trees, and imposing modern buildings, the scenes here are simply breathtaking.

The interiors are also quite grand with traditional materials, like wood and multi-coloured textiles on their chairs, and indoor plants delightfully scattered across the dining area.

Don’t miss out on their house specialties like the quarter-pounder burger with salad, sushi, smoked rib bites, and grilled chicken!

Check out their Facebook before you drop by if you want to celebrate a special occasion. They sometimes have set menus depending on the date of your visit (such as their Valentine’s Day special).

Marble Restaurant is an amazing restaurant to try out if you’re after a great view of the surrounding area while enjoying a delicious meal. The restaurant has an elegant hotel vibe with large windows providing an unobstructed view of the horizon.

We also like the large wine shelves lining the restaurant’s dining area to let guests 

choose which beverages they might want to order. Aside from their amazing starters (e.g., roasted soup and lamb bites), we recommend their lamb cutlets as your main! 

Pro Tip:
If you have the cash to spare, then we recommend their ultimate meat cuts. You can go for the tender sirloin on the bone (ZAR 1,350) or the prime rib valued at ZAR 1,450—truly a meat enthusiast’s dream meal!

If a rustic and bohemian vibe is what you’re after, then check out this Sandton restaurant with a view—Mozambik Linksfield! The restaurant has an indoor and outdoor seating area both surrounded by relaxing views of trees and landscaped lawns.

There are also points of interest in this restaurant’s grounds such as a water fountain and a kid’s play area where you can have fun and take selfies with your group. 

Their Portuguese dishes are also must-tries, especially baked hake and fish and chips!
