Roof Surgeon has been around since 1991, and their 20-year experience in roof repairs and restoration is evident in the quality of work they provided me when I hired them a while back. 

I contacted their customer service for a quote on roof maintenance and waterproofing. It took them a while to get back to me, but when they did, they gave me a detailed quote, plus an explanation of their roofing process. 

I didn’t need a complete overhaul, so they waterproofed my roof with their all-acrylic system. They inspected the roof for material compatibility, which took up to an hour. 

The next day, they started working quickly, which I appreciated, though I would have liked a heads-up that they were arriving early. In the end, it was fine.

Overall, the work turned out great and my roof looked like new. Safe to say, I’d recommend Roof Surgeon if you’re looking for a reputable company that does waterproofing!

A standout service Vee Thatchers offers is roof extensions, which they can complete quickly despite the complexity.

They only use the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS)-approved materials to comb, thatch, and install thatched roofs. This includes thatching poles, fibreglass ridges, Cape reed, and Highveld grass. 

They can replace rotten wooden poles, old thatch roofs, and cracked ring beams or strengthen your thatched roof by patching holes and adding 120mm of grass. 

They offer comprehensive roofing services for traditional thatched roofs, primarily for residential properties, not commercial ones. It’s great to have a specialist contractor for thatched roofs!

Not only does this make them a unique company, but they give their clients peace of mind when it comes to financing repairs and other roofing projects. 

They service various roof types, including slate, tile, and acrylic, and also repair ceilings damaged by leaks. Additionally, they restore broken trusses, a valuable add-on not always included by other contractors.

They offer flexible payment options, quick turnaround times, and various roofing services, but I noticed they tend to rush through the process, possibly due to the high volume of inquiries.

You can give them a call or email them about your roofing concerns 24/7. They don’t reply as quickly as they advertise, though.

If you’re particular about the suppliers for any home renovation projects, then I recommend Ricoshay Solutions. The roofing contractor is a Harvey Tile installer and offers roofing services using products from this brand. 

Aside from Harvey metal and steel roof tiles, they are also experienced in re-roofing using Harvey thatch tiles. This service has a 20-year warranty and can be financed using your insurance premium. 

The only caveat is that the service is only meant for rethatching or reroofing, not complete overhauls. You can, however, request for the Ricoshay team to place thatch tiles over your existing roof. 

If you hire the team for their Harvey Tile metal or steel roofing, they’ll also add insulation service to keep your home cooler during heat waves.

Despite a less extensive service range, their work quality is top-notch, backed by excellent warranties, including a 3-year guarantee. If the finished product isn’t up to your standards, they can redo it for free. 

They don’t offer online quotes, which can be a hassle if you’re on a tight schedule, but they do ensure that your home will be thoroughly inspected and a team will be sent to do your requested roofing service as soon as possible. 

Just note that they specialise in roof repairs and installation, which does not include insulation and truss repairs.
