The best hair salons in Centurion won’t kill your hair with chemicals!

Results: Before-and-after photos were checked. The team also conducted interviews and leaned on personal experience to determine a specific service’s quality, may it be balayage or a simple trim. Of course, we weren’t shy about taking off points for failed jobs, like uneven cuts or failed keratin treatments. Versatility: For this one, we reviewed service menus and stylist portfolios, and salons that passed have at least three services, mainly cuts, colours, and styling. Those with more offerings received higher scores, especially spots with advanced restorative treatments. Experience: Our picks have at least 5 years in their name. This was confirmed through public profiles and direct contact. Moreover, we gave higher scores to salons with specialists who are accredited or trained. Customer Service: Response speed and clarity were tested via phone/email enquiries and personal visits. The team also factored client feedback, particularly on topics like aftercare, politeness, and consultation quality. Atmosphere: We went for relaxed salons, determined based on the space’s cleanliness and style. Perks like refreshments, good playlists, and comfy seating were considered as well.

Catching me having a bad hair day? Good luck with that. I take my locks seriously, and not to toot my own horn, but these strands are serving looks.

Still, I’ve had transgressions against the hair gods—like box dyeing at midnight or thinking cuts can be DIYed. Well, they can be, but is penny pinching worth not being able to go out for weeks?

That’s why I don’t mind paying for professional services now. However, looking fab and fierce shouldn’t cost a kidney. Fortunately, I know where you can look majestic for cost-efficient prices!

Experience is a major reason why Hair @ The Hub made the cut. Eight-plus years in the salon industry is no small feat.

Their team’s skill set is valid, too. The salon has SETA-accredited trainers, meaning most of the stylists’ work falls within the country’s National Qualifications Framework.

Results-wise, most clients gave them a thumbs-up. Yolandi especially stood out; many mentioned how polite, skilled, and professional she was.

That said, not everyone gets a senior stylist, which you might hate if you only want your hair done by seasoned vets.

They’re also a tad pricier than the other picks here, and fees are often not posted online. We’d suggest shooting them a message like what our workmates do.

Overall, though, the salon is clean and versatile, albeit a bit noisy.

We’re also chuffed that they provide nail and lash services. No need to jump to another shop to get such offerings.

Pros

  • Operating for 8+ years
  • SETA-accredited
  • Offers nail and lash services
  • Accepts holiday appointments

Cons

  • Slightly pricier
  • Risk of getting an apprentice stylist
  • Noise complaints

Outstanding

Thank you Anita and the team for squeezing me into your busy day when no other salon could make a plan. Your dedication and customer experience is outstanding. Keep it up and see you soon.

So Happy With How My Hair Came Out

Got my hair dyed with Anita. Her and her team were so professional and friendly. I am so happy with how my hair came out. The color remained vibrant for so long and I was able to do so many hairstyles. Would 100% recommend coming to the salon especially if you have kinky hair texture.

I’ve been with Hair Dynamix for a while now, mostly because the prices make sense. Full highlights kicking off at ZAR 470? Can’t moan about that.

Their package deals have also saved me some cash since they’re cheaper than separate bookings. Discounts are provided, too, usually near the month’s end.

Even better, the quality isn’t half-hearted. The results I’ve been getting so far are impressive, and most clients, their kids included, say the same.

That’s not too shocking, actually, as Hair Dynamix uses professional-grade products to match with their expertise. For instance, Mycro Keratin and Biosense have been applied to my hair.

Onto the flaws. First, they’re closed on Mondays and Sundays, which is a letdown since there are salons available for at least six days.

The 2 pm Saturday closure is also too early for my liking.

That aside, they’re efficient, chiefly when it comes to cuts, which tend to last for about 15–20 minutes only.

Pros

  • Operating for 10+ years
  • Justified prices
  • Cuts efficiently (15–20 mins)
  • Has hair services for kids
  • Uses Mycro Keratin & Biosense
  • Has packaged deals and discounts

Cons

  • Monday and Sunday closure
  • Early Saturday closure (2 pm)

I Will Be Back

I was a “walk in” looking for help with a disastrous haircut (my fault!). I was helped immediately even though it was the late afternoon. I am thrilled with my new cut and grateful to Robyn for her care and expertise. It is a friendly, family hairdresser which is apparently going in for an upgrade shortly… I will be back! Many thanks Hair Dynamics!

If client loyalty means anything to you, HBZ Mastercolour might be right up your alley. We’ve talked to regulars who’ve been with them for at least two years, a few even 8 years or more.

Several pointed to Zinia’s skilled colour work. Comments like ‘precise blending/layering’ and ‘detailed consultations’ kept coming up.

We’d say pricing is fair, too. What makes it sweeter are frequent discounts, like gents scoring 35% off cuts and ladies enjoying 15% off blowwaves.

Like the previous entry, though, you can’t pop by here on Mondays and Saturdays.

The bigger gripe, however, is that a few clients had less-than-stellar experiences over the phone, saying they encountered rude reps.

On a positive note, the salon is clean and homey.

Bonus points for having quality products as well. The shelves had Wella goods during our visit.

Lastly, they’re versatile. Over 10 services are offered, including advanced keratin treatments and perming.

Pros

  • High client retention
  • Regular discounts
  • Expertise in colouring
  • Operating for 7+ years

Cons

  • Monday and Sunday closure
  • History of rude phone reps

SIMPLY THE BEST

It was my first visit and I felt so at home! As Zinia was styling my hair I am thinking “SIMPLY THE BEST”

Great Service

I’ve been a client since 2017 (prev Hair By Julia) and I’ve always received great service! Love Zinia! Always warm, always welcoming and love the chats we have as if we’ve known each other for ages. I always leave feeling like a new person after I get my hair done. Would def recommend.

Bellisima Hair Salon is among our favourites when it comes to atmosphere. The modern, sunlit interior with classy wooden finishes is fit for a day of pampering.

We’re fans of the prices, too, mainly because we lucked out on our recent trip. We enjoyed seasonal deals, mainly the Mycro Keratin treatment that was 25% off, with a free cut to boot.

On top of that, they’re an established name, running for about 12-plus years now.

The catch is that we had some issues with reserving slots. Bellisima’s stylists were fully booked for several weeks, so they might not be the greatest pick if you’re in a rush.

And, same as the last two names, Sundays and Mondays are no-go here.

Otherwise, they’re not a bad pick, especially if you land Michelle, Wendy, Dané, who gave our team amazing cuts, balayage work, and the mentioned MK treatment.

Pros

  • Operating for 12+ years
  • Seasonal discounts
  • Sunlit and homey interior
  • Trusted by photographers like NDW Photography

Cons

  • Stylists can be hard to book
  • Monday and Sunday closure

Made Me Feel Like a Million Bucks

Warm-Hearted and Professional

Staff are warm-hearted and professional. Interior is beautiful: bright and modern. Gas geysers and solar so you can still get your hair done during power outages. Highly recommended.

We’ve talked about experienced joints, so it’s only right that Hair Impressions gets a shout. Twenty-five years is no joke in Centurion.

As for their strongest quality, it’s having regularly trained stylists. Our crew got a taste of that with pros like Attiya and Marcichelle, who jazzed us with top-notch perms and highlights.

The aftercare we received influenced our decision, too. Post-service, we received tips like how to avoid breakage or what brush fits our respective hair type.

Hair Impressions’ products were no ‘Brand X’ names either. It was mostly Indola and Biosene when we dropped by.

Furthermore, the studio was sleek and spot-free. Plenty of parking even awaited our team, which was a huge convenience for us.

We just wish the booking process were breezier. In our case, the phone lines got really busy.

Making it worse is the fact that prices aren’t posted online. You have to call to budget smartly.

Pros

  • Over 25 years of experience
  • Lots of room to park
  • Uses Biosene and Indola
  • Regularly trained specialists

Cons

  • Hard to book
  • Prices aren’t posted online
