My second cousin and I went with Immigration Assist largely because it’s over 30 years old. You don’t last for three decades by being mediocre.

Efficiency in document-handling was also considered. Typically, they deliver vault certificates in 3–10 working days, police clearances in 5 days, and expungements within 6–8 weeks.

Most importantly, the agency specialises in British passport applications/renewals and retention of South African citizenship, the latter often finished in around 2 weeks.

Their communication game is strong, too. Tanya, our consultant, never missed an update, contacting us right away when a document had been approved or received.

Like most agencies, though, their price is on the premium end. We suggest asking for estimates on the initial call to ensure you’re prepared monetarily; they’re generally upfront with those.

Immigration Assist’s delivery record isn’t perfect either. There have been a few delays.

From what we gathered, OS Migration consultants are some of Jozi’s most personable and efficient. Claudia and Yvonne popped up a lot, with most clients describing them as friendly, organised, and responsive, chiefly in replying to emails.

Moreover, their range isn’t shabby. South African clients moving to Portugal can even hire them for niche solutions, such as translation and inheritance services.

Just don’t expect budget-friendly rates, as most of their processes require a fee, consultations included. General rates aren’t cheap either.

On the bright side, OS Migration’s consults are some of the most detailed and transparent we’ve seen. Pitfalls, timelines, document requirements, and the likelihood of approval are all outlined upfront, which can be cost-efficient in the long run.

Deadlines are also tracked, and clients with queries are connected directly to consultants via WhatsApp, not a customer service rep.

The problem is that they’re not quick at picking up the phone.

If you’re specifically looking for Canadian or Cypriot immigration pathways, Beaver Immigration is worth a look.

The agency’s record is especially glowing for Canadian immigration hopefuls. I mean, we’ve even spoken to a few clients who’d been rejected 2–3 times before moving to this one and finally landing approval.

Much of that success comes from their understanding of the Express Entry system, which is points-based. Essentially, Beaver’s consultants help clients improve their scores, all while monitoring monthly draw invitations and keeping track of deadlines.

The agency’s Study in Canada program is reliable as well. Hopefuls get end-to-end support, and complicated bits such as admission letters or even scholarships are handled by a dedicated team.

As you’d expect, the biggest downside is that they focus only on Canada and Cyprus.

Also, while they’ve been running for over 6 years, most entries here have a decade under their belt.

Strategies Migration Services is one of the most flexible agencies on this list. The firm ticks both outbound and inbound migration, the former covering the UK, Canada, and Australia. 

That said, onshore migration is what earned them some bonus points, with visas for business, retirement, relatives, study, spousal, treaty, work, and others in the mix.

They even have solutions others don’t offer. Think medical aid, contract drafting, tax assistance, and accountancy services.

Communication needs some work, though; updates and replies, particularly those sent via email, are sluggish. A handful of clients also pointed out the agency’s delayed callbacks.

Strategies’ fees can also get steep, so knowing the costs early is imperative.

The upside is there’s a free, “no-quotes-required” assessment form. It’s a cost- and time-efficient way to review your chances, weak spots, potential fees, and must-have documents.

Plus, they’ve been operating since 2014. That’s more than a decade.

The number of visas covered by One Visa World is notable. Their record is especially solid when it comes to the following destinations: the USA, UAE, Canada, the UK, and other Schengen countries.

In addition, we didn’t encounter red flags in the communication department. In fact, most see their consultants as timely and calm, especially in terms of handling police clearances (which often get done in around 3–6 days) and answering queries.

As for experience, you’re looking at an agency that has been processing visas since the 1990s, so there’s that.

But here’s the sweeter bit: they have the biggest portfolio of the lot, with over 10,000 USA and UAE visas approved as of 2025.

The catch is you have to be ready for high costs. One World’s quotes usually sit above the city’s average.

In addition, it’s best to ring them in advance, considering they attract a steady stream of clients.
